August 26, 2019

As many of you may know, I am not a fan to remove classes off my schedule, but due to circumstances beyond my control I will be removing the 6:45 a.m. classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.  Mary has graciously agreed to teach the 6:45 a.m. cycling classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  With that said, please look for the return of Friday afternoons at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. after Labor Day weekend. Please keep your suggestions coming on more convenient class times and formats.  I would  like to thank you for your continued support and understanding in the above mentioned changes.

Back to school means the 3:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. classes are back!!

Beginning Monday, August 19, 2019 the 3:30 p.m. lineup will look as follows:

Monday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Barre

Tuesday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Aerial

Wednesday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Cycling

Thursday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Circuit

Additional schedule change effective on August 19, 2019:

Monday 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 a.m. AERIAL

Upcoming Friday and weekend schedule changes will be effective later in the Fall, its a progression.  

As always, I am hopeful you will find classes

that fit in with your schedules.

I would like to thank everyone for such a positive response to the Aerial classes that are now offered at Underground Cycling.  In response to the demand, the following changes have been made.  

Underground Cycling will be offering a Aerial Strength class (a strength based class using the hammocks) and an Aerial Class (stretching and relaxing).  Therefore, starting immediately,  Friday 6:45 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. and Monday 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. will be Aerial - Strength. 

As always, I am hopeful the classes offered at Underground Cycling and Fitness fit your fitness goals as well as your busy schedules.  

Your energy and continued support is greatly appreciated.  



Let's start the Cinco de Mayo weekend off with a 2-hour cycling class!! Tomorrow, 5/3/19, 9:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. If you can stay for the additional hour, please use the added signup. It is up now.
All other classes are as scheduled.

Also, please don't forget.... we wrap up the weekend with a FIESTA (with light adult beverages and snacks) on Sunday, 5/5/19 around 11:00 a.m. A little social time with your friends at UC...it's good for you.

What is going on in the Month of May at Underground Cycling?? 

STUDENT SUMMER PRICING begins on 5/1/19 and runs to 8/31/19 for $120.00!!!!! 

I have unfortunately come to the decision to eliminate the 5:30 A.M. time slots.  It has been evident this is not a popular time and I have decided to remove it from the schedule.  With that said, I am more than happy to bring it back if there is serious, consistent interest. 

   

On a HAPPIER note…  Let’s CELEBRATE!!! Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner and we will be celebrating at Underground Cycling.  Please plan on spending just a little extra time at the studio on Sunday, May 5, 2019 to catch up with some friends socially.  Yes, there will be some light (adult) r...

Underground Cycling is OPEN on Sunday, 4/21/19. All classes will be held at their regular scheduled time, however, with that said, there will no longer be an 11:00 a.m. cycling class on Sundays. The Sunday, 11:00 a.m. cycling class is being canceled for the season. I hope to see everyone at the 8:30 a.m. Sunday, cycling class.

With the warmer weather comes another change in the schedule. Saturday 11:15 a.m. TRX Circuit is also being canceled for the season. I would like to invite everyone to Sunday, 9:45 a.m. TRX Circuit class in its place.

Do you have a student looking to keep up with their fitness goals? Underground Cycling is offering a STUDENT RATE (must be 16 years of age) of $120.00 from May 1, 2019, to August 31, 2019....

Underground Cycling has really come a long way.  We all started keeping track of our heart rates, with our Polar heart rate monitors.  Next came the introduction of cadence (RPM) with the Wahoo Sensors.  Finally, we got the Keiser M3i Series bikes that gave us not only the above mentioned metrics, but we also got POWER.  

"If you don't understand the words I am saying, they don't apply to you"  "Tempo", "Anaerobic Threshold". "VO2 MAX".   All of these terms are used when referring to the zones you are riding during Cycling classes. The Keiser M series app provides a 30 minute test you can take to find your Functional Threshold Power (FTP).  Although I recommend taking the test, I feel it is flawed in many...

In response to popular demand, TRX Circuit has been added to Saturday from 11:15 a.m -12:15 p.m.  I am hopeful  the additional class will help you meet your fitness goals and fit into your busy schedules.
